Received orders to go to the front, talks about the terrain and getting lost before finding location they were familiar with; came across dead Germans along the way. End of letter reminisces about war, discusses situation involving soldiers who returned home and how many thought citizens would go out of their way for them; mentions reading article in Saturday Evening Post about returning soldier; states he is now “up in the hills” hopeful of the future and makes mention of Alice and the Rogers.
